As reported in #1948390: [Meta] Upgrade to D8 from D7: regular testing needed on various OSs with different versions of php and other unique situations, I created a Test site with D7.16, added some nodes, copied D8.x-dev (April 17, 2013 - 13:01). Upon starting update.php, the following message appears (the path has changed to core/install.php):
