Prior to updating to 7.21 (I think I was at 7.19) Contextual links worked fine but after updating to 7.21 (which I did several months ago) they started doing the following things:
- Contextual links stay showing for all regions (they used to show only for the region your mouse was on) if this was intended thats fine.
- When I access an admin panel overlay such as modules the Contextual links gear icon for all website regions shows over top the admin panel overlay (This is the bigger issue)
As far as how to reproduce this I simple updated Drupal core from 7.19 to 7.21.
I noticed that Drupal core update 7.22 is available however I didnt see anything in the change log notes about this issue. I would like to try and fix this prior to updating if possible.
